Old Kilnenor Historical Society

150 years ago, on 29th June 1865, the foundation stone was laid for St. Peter and Paul's church Kilanerin, by Sir Thomas Esmond. Ashling and Pugin were the architects. The parish priest was Rev. Peter Doyle, C.C was Fr. Cahill.  Any local stories on the building of the church would be welcome by the history group. Our next meeting is on 16th July at 9pm in Ballyfad hall.Read more …

Jim Carton Memorial

The Jim Carton Memorial 5 mile road run and 6k family walk in Ballyfad Woods will take place at 11am. Cost €17 for runners, €10 walkers, and children free.  Registration from 9.45amto 10.30am on the day.  T-shirt  for runners.  Prizes for first three male and female runners. Proceeds for North Wexford Hospice and Wexford/Wicklow branch of Samararitans. Refreshments afterwards in Ballyfad Hall. Jim's anniversary mass at 9am on the morning. Féile Shield Phew, what a great weekend for the club. Both our boys and girls got to the Féile Shield semi finals on Sunday morning. That was as far as they both got, but even that was a great experience. It is a little consolation that the boys lost their first game to the eventual overall winners, Austin Stacks of Tralee, by a single point.  Every player and parent of both panels should be proud of their effort.
