The haiku is a short three-lined poem of Japanese origin. The first line has five syllables, the second seven syllables and the third five syllables.
Haiku attempt to capture the brief, fleeting moments of beauty, inspiration or appreciation that we encounter in our everyday lives.
Birds busy building
March trees spring on the breeze – high
Winds catch heavy wings.
Lying in my lovers bed
Morning birds singing
Fine cut orange marmalade
Colour of sunshine.
